RESUMO

Cerebrovascular and hypertensive diseases are among the leading causes of death in the world. This study was developed in two stages: the development of a dashboard with specific reports of cerebrovascular diseases and applied a preliminary predictive analysis model for cerebrovascular diseases. The results demonstrate the abitity to predict a citizen's chance acquiring a cerebrovascular disease.

RESUMO

We developed and evaluated the usability of Check-up Surgery, a surgery application from the mApp® Platform. The Usability Engineering Cycle was used as method of development. The results showed that the Check-up Surgery application had excellent usability criteria with an average of 4.63 to 4.70 by 81% of the evaluators. For all the interviewees there was statistical significance in relation to the usability criteria of the application, with pValue ≤.05.

RESUMO

Mobile devices, as persuasive technologies, represent an important platform to promote changes in attitudes and behaviors. They are not only understood as tools, but as a learning process that provides different opportunities to learn how to learn. The objectives of the study were to measure the quality of a virtual mobile learning object, to measure the mental workload of the educational intervention, and to evaluate the learning results. This is a technological production study with a mixed method, quasi-experimental approach. Three simulated clinical scenarios comprise the m-OVADor@, allowing for a simulated evaluation of acute pain through interactive tools. The technology met the quality criteria for educational software, with low mental workload, demonstrating a significant strategy for learning about pain among nursing students.

RESUMO

The Education Working Group of IMIA NI present this thought provoking panel where the changing and challenging role of nursing will be explored within the information intensive eHealth arena. The session will be of interest to any nurse as the discussion will be driven by the objective of trying to understand how best to prepare nurses to be actively engaged in information and communication technology (ICT) developments that enhance care assessment, delivery, evaluation and audit. As a balance, the discussion will consider the increasing emergence of 'nursing by numbers' where risk assessment tools are used in an automatic way leaving little room for individual evidenced based care.

RESUMO

The process of nursing is an assertive solving problem approach to the identification and care of patients' problems as well as an instrument of education in Nursing. At the CCU, due to the complexity of care, constant changes in the clinical situation of patients and the elevated amount of information, the informatics is seen as a way to the development of the nursing process and consequently improvement of the quality of care. Therefore, this methodological study and technological production was developed with 05 nurses of the CCU aiming describing the development of the nursing computerized process in the CCU from the ICNP Beta 2 and demonstrating the contributions to the improvement of nursing care. The ethical principals of the resolution 196/96 of CNS were followed and constituted 03 production phases: planning, development and production of the B version. The evaluation process interposed the system production phases and made it possible necessary modifications to be done. The evaluations make noteworthy that a new conception of nursing care practice is established; the process of nursing informatics makes the care more notorious, organized and permits the early mistake detection; the program allows a continuous learning and explicit clinical decision making of the nurse. Therefore, information systems and related technology are necessary in order to create, democratize, and apply knowledge in nursing.
